Begin by gluing your prosthetic down completely as shown in "How to apply an FX FACES prosthetic". Seal the surface of the foam with a thin layer of either Pro-adhesive or Liquid latex. Allow to dry and powder. Brush off excess powder. We have pre-painted the teeth to save application time. We used white pax paint mixed with a small amount of yellow pax paint to color the teeth. We then used brown pax paint around each tooth for definition. We then sealed the pax with Gloss medium. We are also utilizing a latex bald cap with the ears under the cap.
You may note that a custom contact lense is already in place. This can be easier than putting them in after your makeup is complete.

Your now ready begin coloring. We started with a medium brown rmg shading color. Using a makeup sponge, apply the makeup into all deeper areas of foam and skin, including wrinkles and depressions. Powder well to set the Makeup & brush off excess powder.

Your now ready to begin adding a base color over the shading tone. We wanted a bone color so we added a small amount of yellow RMG to white RMG to create our base color. Using the flat side of a makeup sponge, dab into your RMG picking up a small amount of makeup. Don't add too much or it will fill in the details of the prosthetic. Lightly dab the sponge over the surface of the foam and skin, allowing the makeup to only hit the higher spots of the appliance. This will leave the base tone showing in all the crevices, wrinkles, etc. Once you've finished with this step, powder well and brush off excess. |
We now added a Black RMG to the deepest spots of the makeup to give more depth. We also used the black on the exposed skin on the neck. We then thinned down our brown shading color with 99% isopropyl alcohol until it was a translucent wash. We used a short bristle brush to spatter the makeup wash over the entire surface to break up the makeup. Powder well and brush off the excess.
